One civilian dead, six wounded in Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia

On the night of September 24, Russia launched 81 Shahed combat drones, two X-59/69 guided missiles, and one Iskander-M ballistic missile at Ukraine. The Air Defence Forces reported the downing of 66 attack drones in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions. Another 13 combat drones lost radar contact.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians shelled Kharkiv, Ivashky, Zahryzove, Riznykove, Osynove, Kupiansk, and Khotimlia. One civilian was injured.

In the Donetsk region, located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine and partially occupied since 2014, the Russians launched 3,105 attacks on Hirnyk, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, Krasnotorka, Kurakhivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Udachne, Shevchenkove, Bohoiavlivka, Mykolaiivka, Svitle, and Shakhove.  Eighteen people were injured, including two children. Two people were killed. Fifty private houses suffered damage.

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russians shelled Balky Zhuravky and Makiivka with cannon and rocket artillery. The regional military administration reports no casualties. 

Russians shelled Nikopol and the Marhanets, Myrove and Pokrovsk communities in the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine. One civilian was injured. Ten private houses, a garden house, five outbuildings, several greenhouses, four cars, two gas pipelines and three power lines were damaged and destroyed. A motor grader was damaged. 

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia with rockets and guided bombs. One civilian was killed and six were injured, including two children. The Russians also launched 321 attacks on Kushuhum, Komyshuvakha and Levadne, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, and Malynivka—a total of 314 residential buildings and infrastructure facilities sustained damage.

In the Mykolaiv region, south of Ukraine, the Russians shelled the Kutsurub community with FPV attack drones. The regional military administration reports no casualties. 

In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Antonivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Poniativka, Naddniprianske, Romashkove, Veletenske, Bilozerka, Kizomys, Stanislav, Honcharne, Tomyna Balka, Novodmitrivka, Beryslav, Mylove, Novovorontsovka, Zolota Balka, Kachkarivka, Novoberyslav, Mykhailivka, Zamozhne, Kozatske, and Kherson. Thirteen civilians suffered injuries. Three high-rise buildings and 16 private houses, gas pipelines, an ambulance and private cars sustained damage. 

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk communities. The regional military administration reports no casualties. 

In the Sumy region, bordering the Kursk and Belgorod regions of Russia to the north, the Russians shelled 214 settlements in 52 localities. Three civilians were injured. Twelve private households, an outbuilding, 2 cars, a bus, a lock-up and a gas station got damaged.
