Most of the Russian military remains on the right bank of the Kherson region — Ukrainian intelligence
The representative of the military intelligence of Ukraine, Vadym Skibitskyi, reported this in an interview with The Guardian.
According to preliminary estimates, the total number of Russian troops in the area is about 20,000.
According to Skibitskyi, the Russians are retreating from the second line of defense, to which Ukrainian fighters pushed them back in early October. But they have built a line of defense around Kherson and will probably be able to defend the city.
The Main Directorate of Intelligence also believes that the retreat of the Russian army from the right bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region should free up forces that will then be transferred to the Donetsk region, which is now a priority. Skibitskyi ruled out that the Russians now have the opportunity to launch a new offensive, for example, from Belarus.
