MFA denies allegations of Ukrainian military taking part in hostilities in Gaza
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has denied a report by Alaraby channel about the alleged participation of Ukrainian soldiers in hostilities on the side of Israel.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko made the statement.
On December 20, the Alaraby channel published a video allegedly from the Gaza Strip, stating that "Ukrainians are fighting in the ranks of the Israeli army in the war against the Gaza Strip". In the video, people speak Russian.
"Ukraine did not send its troops either to the Gaza Strip or to any other region of the world. The Ukrainian Army is defending its territory from Russian aggression," Nikolenko wrote on his Facebook page.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson assumed that the Alaraby in the video were Israeli citizens of "Ukrainian or Slavic origin" who had no relation to the Ukrainian state.
