Italy suspends Investor Visa for Italy programme for citizens of Russia and Belarus

The Italian authorities have decided to suspend the issuance of investor visas for citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

This is stated on the programme's website.

The programme was launched in 2017 to attract investment from abroad. In exchange for them, the Italian authorities offered a two-year visa for the applicant and his family and a special tax regime. After 10 years, they could apply for citizenship.

The decision to suspend the programme for Belarusians and Russians was approved on July 14.
