Israel announces the liquidation of Hamas southern wing commander Matez Eid
The Israeli Defence Forces have announced that Matez Eid, the commander of the southern district in the Hamas National Security organization, has been eliminated.

During the night, the Israeli Defence Forces struck at least 50 targets in the Gaza Strip. In particular, a strike was carried out in the south, where a convoy of 70 people was moving.
A representative for the Palestinian Embassy, Kamel Khatib, said that at 9 a.m., the Rafah border crossing from Gaza to Egypt would be opened for the evacuation of foreigners and the import of humanitarian aid. The Reuters news agency, citing official sources in Egypt, wrote that the United States, Egypt and Israel had agreed to a ceasefire in the southern Gaza Strip. At the same time, the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel denied any information about the ceasefire, the evacuation of foreigners, or the import of humanitarian supplies into the Strip.
"There is currently no truce and humanitarian aid in Gaza in exchange for getting foreigners out," said a brief statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office.
The IDF strikes at Hezbollah targets in Lebanon in response to the shelling of Israeli territory. Israel plans to evacuate people from 28 settlements on the border with Lebanon.
Joe Biden warned Israel against occupying the Gaza Strip. In an interview with CBS, he said it would be a "big mistake" for Israel to occupy Gaza.
