Increasing the number of Russian troops is unlikely to help Russia achieve significant progress in the war in Ukraine — British intelligence

The Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom notes that Russia has lost tens of thousands of military personnel, there are few new contract recruits, and the conscripts, at least technically, are not required to perform tasks outside the territory of the Russian Federation.

As we stated earlier, on August 25, Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the increase of the armed forces of the Russian Federation by 137,000 soldiers in 2023.
