In Latvia, the number of illegal migrants on the border with Belarus is growing

Over the past month, 285 people tried to cross the border illegally. On average, it is 12-15 people a day.

Jurijs Vlasovs, the head of the border service department in Daugavpils, said that the influx of illegal migrants is likely to continue to grow. In early August, the Government of Latvia supported the extension of the state of emergency at the border. According to Vlasovs, the police went to help the border guards.
