Hungary has preliminarily approved the EU plan to allocate EUR 18 billion of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine

The Ambassador of Hungary supported this plan at the meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to the Council of the EU. However, this decision will need to be confirmed in the European Parliament. It is likely to happen next week.

At the same meeting of the Committee, the ambassadors agreed to partially unblock funds for Hungary under two programs: Recovery and Resilience Facility and Regional Policy. Thanks to this, Hungary will be able to receive about 12 billion euros. Some funds are still blocked, but the ambassadors reduced the share from 65 to 55%.
