Grain deal extends for another two months

The grain deal has been extended until July 18.

This was announced by Turkish President Erdoğan and Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov.

"We welcome the continuation of the Initiative, but we emphasise that it must work effectively. To do this, it is necessary to eliminate the problems that Russia has been creating for several months now by sabotaging inspections and registration of the new fleet," Kubrakov says .

He also added that the Ukrainian side hopes that the partners will make every effort to ensure that the grain deal starts to work fully for the world's food security, and that Russia will finally stop using food as a weapon and for blackmail.

Since mid-April, Russia has been unreasonably restricting the work of the grain initiative, and since May it has effectively blocked it by refusing to register a new fleet and inspect the fleet that is being loaded into Ukrainian ports.

Almost 70 vessels are currently waiting in Turkish territorial waters, 90% of which are ready to deliver Ukrainian farmers' products to the world.
