Government appoints Semen Kryvonos as the new director of NABU
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Semen Kryvonos as the new director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau at an extraordinary meeting.
This is evidenced by the broadcast of the meeting.
Before that, Semen Kryvonos worked as the head of the State Inspectorate of Architecture and Urban Planning. Kryvonos has been a civil servant since 2007. At first, he worked as a chief specialist in the Department for Family, Youth, and Sports of the Holosiivskyi District State Administration of Kyiv, and later, he worked in the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Justice in the Odesa and Kyiv regions as well as at the Odesa Customs.
Kryvonos will serve as NABU director for seven years.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal recommended that the new NABU director appoint the other two finalists, Serhii Hupiak and Roman Osypchuk, to other senior positions in the Bureau.
Shmyhal added that with the election of the new NABU head, Ukraine has fulfilled all seven EU recommendations that were determined upon receiving candidate status.
