Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps jointly conduct a combat operation in the Russian-Ukrainian border area


For several days, fighting has been ongoing in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. On the morning of June 4, the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps confirmed that they were fighting on Russian territory. 

The Legion announced this on its Telegram channel. 

The Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps are volunteer formations of Russian citizens and ethnic Russians who are fighting against Russian troops. 

On June 4, the FRL and RVC announced fighting near the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka. It is located in the Belgorod region near the border with Ukraine. Fighting for this village had already taken place on June 1. 

Later, the Russian volunteer corps claimed that their advanced units were in the suburb of Shebekino. It is a small Russian town located 10 kilometres from the border with Ukraine.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that during the night of June 4, explosions were heard in the Shebekino district and the neighbouring Volokonovka district.
