Bulgaria becomes the 22nd country to formally support Ukraine's accession to NATO
During his visit to Bulgaria, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Bulgaria Nikolai Denkov signed a joint declaration on Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.
The President of Ukraine announced this on his social media accounts.
The document shows that Bulgaria supports Ukraine's membership in NATO as soon as conditions allow.
"This is the 22nd document of this kind. It is very important. The obvious majority in Europe is in favour of common security," Zelenskyy said.
Ukraine and Bulgaria also agreed to cooperate in the energy sector by signing a joint memorandum.
Earlier, the Foreign Policy Committee of the Bulgarian Parliament supported Ukraine's accession to NATO after the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
