Belgium will provide its F-16 fighter jets for training Ukrainians
Belgium officially joins the so-called "F-16 Coalition". The country will provide its F-16 fighter jets for training Ukrainians.
This was announced by the Minister of Defence of Belgium, Ludivine Dedonder.
Six Ukrainian instructors and four mission planners will be trained in Belgium to further train Ukrainian pilots and other personnel on F-16s.
The Belgian Ministry of Defence will also send a group of military personnel to a training centre for Ukrainian pilots in Denmark.
In 2024, the Belgian Ministry of Defence will send two two-seat training F-16B tandem training aircraft to Denmark for advanced training, as well as a contingent of about fifty military personnel, mostly technicians, responsible for the deployment of F-16s.
It will be recalled that Ukraine will receive 42 F-16 fighters from the Netherlands and Denmark. Norway will also provide a small number of aircraft to Ukraine. In Denmark, 70 Ukrainian military personnel are currently training on F-16s. Greece has also joined the training missions.
