Anti-corruption agencies, jointly with SSU, uncover Sumy mayor and city council official on bribe
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the Security Service of Ukraine caught the mayor of Sumy and the director of a city council department on bribery.
This was reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The officials were to receive UAH 1.4 million for "setting the tariff and not creating artificial obstacles in the company's operations".
The total amount of the unlawful benefit was to be over UAH two million.
Law enforcement officers preliminarily charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code - taking a bribe in a significant amount. The investigation is ongoing.
