African Union urges Russia to return to the grain deal — Politico
The 55-nation African Union has called on Russia to immediately resume the United Nations-brokered grain deal.
Politico writes about this, citing Russian propaganda media.
"The problem of grain and fertilisers concerns everyone," stated Comoros President Azali Assoumani, who heads the African Union.
It will be recalled that on July 17, Russia withdrew from the grain deal.
At a meeting with the leaders of the African Union, the Russian president said that Russia would supply the African countries of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Eritrea with 25,000 to 50,000 tonnes of grain. The UN responded by saying that this "handful of donations" could not replace the Black Sea Agreement.
