A Ukrainian driver dies on the border with Poland
On December 16, the driver of a truck that was queuing at the Krakivets-Korczowa border crossing due to a strike by Polish carriers died.
The vice-president of the Association of International Road Carriers, Volodymyr Balin, commented to Suspilne.
The incident occurred at the Krakivets-Korczowa checkpoint.
According to Balin, the driver was taken away by an ambulance and died on the way to the hospital. At present, the head of the Association does not know which company the carrier was from.
This is the third case of a Ukrainian driver's death since the beginning of the blocking of the Ukrainian-Polish border checkpoints.
One driver died in front of the Dorohusk-Yagodyn checkpoint. It happened in a car park in Chełm, not far from the checkpoint. It is known that the 54-year-old man arrived at the car park and stayed there to wait for the border crossing.
The second man died while waiting in line in front of the Korczowa checkpoint.
After the death of the second driver at the border, Ukraine sent another official note to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanding that the truck traffic be unblocked.
