11-year-old girl among nine injured in nighttime drone attack on Kyiv

On the night of October 30, Russia attacked Ukraine with an unspecified missile, 62 Shahed combat drones and unspecified drones. The Air Defence Forces reported the downing of 33 UAVs in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Dnipro, Sumy, Chernihiv and Poltava regions.

In Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, a Russian attack set fire to non-residential premises and two floors of a residential building. Nine civilians were injured, including an 11-year-old girl. In the Kyiv region, bordering Belarus to the north, a grass lawn caught fire due to the fall of the wreckage of a downed UAV. 

The Russians used UAVs and artillery to target Nikopol and the communities of Marhanets, Myrove, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovsk in the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine. Infrastructure, an industrial plant, seven private houses, two outbuildings, a motorbike and power lines were damaged. The regional military administration reported no casualties.

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the front line in the east of Ukraine, the Russian army shelled Kurakhove, Lyman, Myrnohrad, Siversk, Sloviansk, Toretsk, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Sofiyivka, Viroliubivka and Sukhi Yaly. Over the past day, 2,882 hostile acts have been registered in the region. Fourteen residential buildings, 16 lock-ups, 11 cars, one motorbike, one trailer, two administrative buildings, two commercial buildings, one utility building, one tractor, two enterprises and one agricultural facility were damaged. One civilian was killed and ten others were injured, including two children. 

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied by Russia since 2022, Russia struck Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Bilohirsk, Novodarivka, Bilenke, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Olhivske and Preobrazhenka. Over the past day, the Russians have shelled the region 337 times. Seven residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged. The regional military administration reports no casualties.

In the Luhansk region, almost entirely occupied by Russia, the Russians attacked Hrekivka, Balka Zhuravka and Bilohorivka, mainly with artillery and UAVs.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the Russian army shelled Ochakiv, the Kutsurub community and the water area of the Ochakiv community. Four private houses, an outbuilding, a car, a power line and a block of flats were damaged, and a car caught fire. The regional military administration reported no casualties.

The Russians shelled the Odesa region in the south of Ukraine, with two X-31P guided missiles, which failed to hit their targets. A 71-year-old man was killed by shrapnel from one of the downed missiles.

In the Sumy region, which borders Russia to the north, the Russian army opened fire on the communities of Sumy, Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Putivl, Shalyhyne, Esman, Seredyna-Buda, Svesa and Andriiashivka. Six private houses, one outbuilding and vehicles were damaged. Three civilians were injured. Over the past day, 247 attacks were recorded on the territory of the region.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, Koviahy, Tsaredarivka, Lozova, Ruski Tyshky, Bezruky, Kupiansk and Petrivka were hit by Russian shelling. A garage, an outbuilding and dry grass caught fire. The road surface of the motorway, ten residential buildings and a gas supply vehicle were damaged. Four civilians were injured, including a ten-year-old child. 

In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Kherson, Antonivka, Komyshany, Prydniprovske, Zelenivka, Chornobaiivka, Sadove, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Mykilske, Berislav, Dudchany, Zolota Balka and Lvove came under Russian shelling and air strikes. Critical infrastructure, an educational institution, a medical facility, a shop, three multi-storey buildings and 33 private houses, gas pipelines, garages, buses and private cars were damaged. Three civilians were killed and 16 injured.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled Tykhonovychi and Nizhyn. The shelling caused a fire that destroyed a residential building, a utility building and a summer kitchen.
