Ukraine returns a child deported to Russia from the Oleshky orphanage — the Human Rights Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets

At the beginning of the year, the child's grandmother contacted Lubinets. She wanted to take her grandson out of the orphanage, but by then, he had already been moved to the territory of the Russian Federation along with other children.

"The applicant said that as soon as she learned that the children in the orphanage were being transferred to the Russian Federation, she went to the institution to pick up her grandson. However, Artem, along with other children, had already been transferred to the territory of the Russian Federation, from there to the temporarily occupied Crimea, and later to Skadovsk," the ombudsman wrote.

The administration of the institution where Artem was kept refused to return the child.

Now, the grandmother has been appointed as a legal guardian, and the child has been returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
