The Embassy of Ukraine in Türkiye has tracked down nine Ukrainians who did not get in touch after the earthquake — Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Türkiye Vasyl Bondar

There are no threats to their lives. 

About 18 people have remained out of contact. This is primarily due to the lack of communication with the Hatay region, the epicentre of the earthquake.

However, the number of appeals about citizens in the disaster area who are out of touch has increased to 27. The Ukrainian Embassy is working with Turkish rescuers to establish their whereabouts.

There is no information about Ukrainians among the dead due to the earthquake. 

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signs a decree on providing humanitarian aid to the Republic of Türkiye to overcome the consequences of the earthquake emergency.

As a reminder, on February 6, an earthquake with a magnitude of more than 7 points occurred in southern Türkiye. The earthquake was also felt in Cyprus, Lebanon and Syria. Aftershocks were also felt in several other countries.

As of the morning of February 7, the death toll from the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria exceeded 4,800 people.
