Russian special services prevent a Ukrainian child from returning home — Ukrainian Ombudsman

Russians took a 17-year-old boy from Mariupol to temporarily occupied Donetsk and then to Russia to a foster family. According to the Ukrainian side, he has a sister in Ukraine.

From Russia, the boy traveled to Belarus to return to Ukraine but was detained by Russian special services there.

"It is worth noting that this young man has Ukrainian citizenship. Therefore, the forced transfer of him to the territory of the aggressor country is not a "rescue," as Lvova-Belova says, but a crime," wrote Dmytro Lubinets.

Russian Children's Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova publicly confirmed this information at a press conference for foreign media.

"This story is another public confession of war crimes — the abduction of Ukrainian children! I am confident that there will be a fair punishment for this!" the Ombudsman commented on Lvova-Belova's words.

It will be recalled that the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova.
