Unknown object found on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea

Denmark wants to get this object out of the sea to investigate it. The Danish Energy Agency has offered to help Nord Stream 2 AG, the pipeline's owner, get the object.

The Energy Agency at the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Utilities of Denmark reported this.

The object is cylindrical in shape and is approximately 40 cm high and about 10 cm in diameter. It is possibly a marine smoke buoy.

The object has already been examined and does not pose a direct security threat.

"In order to further clarify the nature of the object, the authorities decided to pick the object up with the help of the armed forces. In this regard, the Danish Energy Agency has invited the owner of Nord Stream 2 AG to take part in its recovery from the sea," the agency said.
